Blogburg 2010

Vancouver wasn't the only place to have a great big happening in 2010. This is the year I revamped my blogs — all eight of them. I'm also in the process of migrating the Jonco Bugos blog from LiveJournal, post by post. When I'm done, LiveJournal and its nonstop Flash ads that won't let you navigate the blog until they've played out will be in my rear-view mirror forever.

Thank heavens for Blogger and especially for the new "Blogger in draft". It was a lot of work redesigning eight blogs but the great-looking templates by Josh Peterson and Tina Chen were the best foundations I could have had to build upon. I used them for all but Think-A-Holic Lounge which continues to occupy no space in the physical universe. I just gave the joint a new neon sign.

So, now that I've dressed up my blogs in their spiffy new Easter outfits for 2010 (sorry, I just couldn't resist the apropos analogy) feel free to check them all out at Science Fiction for Thinkers.com /  Blogs.
Post Update: I added this animated blog gif on 12-23-10 to add some "rich content" to this anemic posting. So, the Jonco Bugos blog looks like it was already migrated and revamped on 4-1-10, but it wasn't. As you can see, literary license also applied to blogging.

Saving Thinker's Corner

Thinker's Corner was my very first blog. I started writing it way back in May 2005 when it was located at Lulu.com, where my paperback books are still published.

As of February 2009, Lulu.com will no longer support blogs. There was no way to import a non-Blogger blog to Blogger so... I migrated Thinker's Corner to Blogger, post by post, with all the original Lulu post dates intact.

I hated to scrap my very first blog. But I didn't migrate all 70 posts because some of them are duplicated on Thinck Tank, my second-oldest blog, located here at Blogger, and some were just no longer relevant. A little more than half of them survived.

It took me two days.

A Blog of a Different Color

I write several other blogs, all hosted at Blogger.com. But they're nothing like this one. One of the newest ones is called Random Retro Reviews of the 20th Century and it's coauthored by Baby Boomer Boy.

It has nothing to do with my books, or writing or publishing, or any of that boring marketing stuff. We simply cast a critical eye back on the last century, pick a topic or an event at random, and let the words flow. You'll get a lot of researched facts at this blog and a lot of social, political and news commentary, as well.
